Very productive variety that has been grown since the 18th century. Somewhat savoy-like leaves, which are thick-textured, glossy and delicious with no bitterness. Can be sown from early spring
onwards, though comes into its own as an overwintering crop sown in early autumn. Through
mid-summer spinach has a tendancy to bolt or go to seed quickly thus reducing your yield of leaves, though Bloomsdale stands better than many varieties. Sown late in summer/autumn you get extended months of harvest until the following spring.
