Dual purpose apple trees

Ballyvaughan seedling (55)

Ballyvaughan seedling (55) €22.00 (55m26)

Large, irregular-shaped fruit with a red-flushed yellow/green skin. As an eater it is sharp with a long-lasting sweet after-taste (like brandy!) It is firm and crisp and cooks very well. It is a heavy cropper and has great wind-resistance, ripening from September on. One of the first trees in the native apple collection at ISSA, this variety was found in the old workhouse orchard in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare. A mid-season self-rooter and tip-bearer.
