Black worcester

Black worcester €25.00 (PR11)

Dating from the 16th century England, the ancient Black Worcester is a large, dull, green pear almost completely covered by brown russet, with many of these fruits having a purplish flush which gives them a black appearance. It never softens to eat for dessert but will keep until December. They should be picked in October. They store very well and need cooking slowly for one or two hours – great if you have a range. The pears should be picked late October or early November but will keep into March or April the following year. This is a late-flowering variety.
